@DUTR what I meant is that the ad said there are no issues, overheating and a coolant leak are quite major which he failed to disclose. I will follow the advice of letter before claim and hope for the best, I have a £2,600 bike sitting outside dead. But it’s a lesson, next time I will use a main dealer with warranty

Did the ad say there were no issues or did it not say there were any issues?

Yamaha Burgman 650 is around 270KG so perhaps it's one of them?

    You're right, I'm amazed.

I doubt he/she had one. I've bought and sold lots of bikes and have never had, nor given, a test ride. It's not practical and doesn't normally happen with private sales.

You would at least start it and have it running for a bit though wouldn't you?

Sorry for late reply, the 15 miles May be a little exaggeration, but it was a good 4 hour push as for the scooter it’s a burgman 650, I did test ride it for around a mile it was running fine, as for the ad it said no issues what so ever
  • you are trying it with the sidestand up i hope.

The Suzuki Burgman 650 is pretty well known for the water pump to leak.

The outer cover seal is prone to degrading and it leaks coolant
Also the inner shaft seal (and shaft) can wear so it leaks engine oil out.

Look under the right hand side, follow the lower rad pipe back from the rad and that's the water pump.

If either is bad enough it'll seize up.

Suzuki are not very good at water pumps. :(

The good news is that due to a major design flaw, it can actually be removed whilst the engine is in the frame!!!! :D

(Try that on an SV650 ;)- you have to split the engine casings)

    Take a look on youtube

Got. Call from my mechanic and turns out the engine is seized, Will need a new engine, he said it wasn’t worth fixing as price would surpass purchase price
