    16 year olds cannot claim benefits in their own right unless they are fully independent ie living away from you altogether and paying rent etc. Even then, it is not easy for them to do so.

    Be very careful as you are likely going to end up keeping her, with no benefits for either of you. Look up connexions in your local phone book or google them - you should have a local one and they will know the ins and outs of what is available.

    A reality check is needed here I feel!
