Ongoing washing machine fault now out of warranty

Hi All
My AEG is just a few days out of its 5 year warranty. Last July 2018 I noticed loads of holes appearing in the clothes bedding etc. I called the Service Force Engineer out under the warranty & he found the paddles in the drum were very loose & said the washing was getting caught underneath so he replaced all 3 paddles. The issue continued with more holes appearing so he came back & replaced the paddles again.
Still more new holes appeared so in May he replaced the entire drum & door seal.
To my dismay I again noticed different holes in new underwear, face clothes, tee shirts etc.
I was 10 days out of warranty so the service Force engineer said I’d need to contact AEG/ELECTROLUX directly.
I did so & they said as a goodwill gesture they’d send the Engineer out again. He came today took photos of the new holes & phoned AEG directly. They advised him to put in ANOTHER NEW DRUM & door seal which he has ordered.
As this is an ongoing issue that developed during the warranty & obviously hasn’t been fixed where do I stand?? Do they seriously expect me to keep using a machine that has been making holes in the clothes for 16 months? The fact they have offered to replace the entire Drum AGAIN surely suggests they are accepting this is a fault.
The engineer assured me this is NOT a User fault (ie my fault) as there was no issue for 4 years & I am not doing anything differently.
I phoned AEG straight away to say I was not at all happy with how they intended to fix this but they just said the new part has been authorised so I have to go ahead.
Do I have any alternative?

Warranty terms are whatever the msnufacturer state them to be, if that is repairs only so be it.
Your problem is you exercised your warranty rights and not your consumer rights.0 -
What do you want as an outcome?0
-
How would I exercise my consumer rights then please? Obviously I exercised my warranty rights as the machine was in warranty0
-
Ideally a new machine or monetary contribution towards buying a new Machine0
-
The warranty which is with Domestic & General states they will replace the machine if it cannot be fixed or provide a monetary contribution towards a new machine. It doesn’t say repair only.0

Your consumer rights were against the retailer. If you could have proved it was an inherent fault then the retailer would have the option to repair, replace or refund. Any refund would be reduced to reflect the use had so on a 3 and a half year old (at the time ) any refund could be in the region of 20/30% of cost. However that ship has sailed, unless you bought direct from manufacturer.0

Or ideally a machine not making holes I’m my clothes 🙄0

But they are not saying they can't fix it.
How much did you pay for the machine?0 -
Ah I see but no one tells you that at the time you call them in to repair. You just assume a problem develops you use your 5 year warranty plan & contact them0

But you're out of warranty now, and they've already effected a goodwill visit and you're getting a goodwill repair. It might not say "repair only" but I suspect it does say that it is their choice whether to repair, replace or partially refund?adhesiongirl wrote: »The warranty which is with Domestic & General states they will replace the machine if it cannot be fixed or provide a monetary contribution towards a new machine.
