Hi all,
Maybe someone can give some advice, in one afternoon we have had flights cancelled on both holidays for this year to Milan and next year for Lanzarote, great day not, we have had a right argument with Booking.com over flights, in less then 4 weeks we are supposed to fly to Milan with Flybe, they said they have changed the flights and we agreed to fly to Amsterdam then change and fly the rest of the way to Milan, now we have confirmation of the flights to Amsterdam but not to Milan, they are dragging their feet and saying we are booked on the flight.......sorry don't trust anyone anymore, if they don't get us on a flight we will lose everything connected to the holiday, accommodation, transfers etc, were do we stand on this for refunding the whole lot, it was all booked through them?
We have already threatened them with small claims if they don't confirm the flights in reasonable time.
And now to James Villas who cancelled the flights to Lanzarote in July next year, fully paid for £3000 quid, they are asking for an extra £800 for new flights as we where booked with Thomas Cook....... we have refused, they now say we have until 7th Oct to ask for a refund or they will not refund the whole amount......how can that be moral or legal, they say it's not their fault the likes of TUI and Flybe are the worst and cashing in on the flight nightmare.....what next year!
Probably will just tell them to stick it and take the refund, I'm not going on a flight next year if that is the case and will never use these company's again.

Advice? Don't book flights through third companies, book direct. You may pay a few pounds more but problems are dealt with so much easier.
James Villas are correct, holiday flights have increased. Supply and demand dictate that. I would take the refund from them, wait until the dust of Thomsons settles and see what company takes over the Thomson business.0 -
May be cheaper but don't have the time with work to sort separate flights to villa, car hire etc, yeah I think we have stopped thinking about a holiday abroad next year and save it for America the year after, I'm not playing their games on flight prices, it's all BS really, my friend got cheaper flights by £100 next year with Easy jet after his Thomas Cook ones were cancelled, so they are not all the same, it's just showing the greedy company's for what they are.0

If you booked the flights at the same time as the accommodation with James Villas and you have an ATOL Certificate, it is their responsibility to find alternative flights, at no extra charge to you. If you are having a problem getting the company to understand the situation, say you will report the matter to the CAA0

FlyMayBe strikes again!
I would suggest not booking anything with them until the new owners work out and announce a long term plan (prob won't be before next spring).0 -
We just canceled the whole holiday and had a refund, not bothering until next year to even thinking of booking another holiday now, as with the flights to Milan....we now have flights to Amsterdam confirmed still waiting for the flights from Amsterdam to Milan to be confirmed......0

Just a side note, one flight being £100 cheaper proves nothing - capacity is massively down to the Canaries etc, so on average flights right through to next year are more expensive.0
