Adding a phrase to posts

Sorry if this isn't the right place and if so, perhaps you can direct me to the right one.
How to add a saying or phrase to each post?
I see some people have this and would like to have my own but can't see how.
I tried quote but that just repeated my previous post and I had to work out how to delete it.

Hi, it's called a signature. You can add one under the User CP in your profile (click on your username to find that).

Thank you Coffeehound, think I've found it following your info.
I'll give it a go later. If goes wrong at least it will give people a laugh.

Hi twopenny I was wrong: 'User CP' is always in the green bar near the top of the screen -- that is for the older green forum which I think you will have. Then you select 'Edit Signature' from the list on the left side.

Yes, I found it. Spent a lot of time on the TripAdvisor Forums not to mention Hotmail and Yahoo which like to keep your brain active by hiding stuff unexpectedly.
You gave me the essentials and I located it. Will give it a go later.
I really must take time to trawl around and work out what everything is for but meantime I seem to be asking and answering which is the main thing
