AdrianC - It's not a diversion!because it would have made the matter a lot easier if they were still practicing or had merged, for myself or my solicitor to contact them. Thank you for your help.0

AdrianC - It's not a diversion! I'm trying to pay it..
You appear to accept that you have a debt, so the solicitors were correct to place the restriction on the LR Title. Any misdemeanours they may have undertaken elsewhere are irrelevant. As is the fact they are nolonger in business.
Your issue is finding the current owner of the debt and paying it so the Restriction can be removed.
As so often, posters here have helpfully pointed you at potential companies to contact, so hopefully you (and we) can now ignore the diversion and you get the Restriction removed.
Of course, had you paid off your debt in a timely fashion, you would not now be getting understandable pressure from your buyer..........0 -
I appreciate all the help and advice that has been given. It certainly wasn't my intention to portray a diversion in any shape or form. I was merely trying to give as much information as possible. It is my own fault for being in this situation, but there was circumstances surrounding it. I just seem to have hit a brick wall at every attempt to get it resolved. Egg no longer exists and the solicitors acting on their behalf had ceased trading. Hopefully by contacting Canada Square Operations I should be able to get this resolved. I haven't got a clue how long it's going to take for them to get back to me? As they seem to be inundated with PPI claims as the recent deadline closed for any claims. But once again thank you to everyone for their help.0

Egg no longer exists
Barclays have already told you "not us", because they only bought the live card business.
So that leaves Citibank.
What have they told you since you were first pointed to them nearly five and a half hours ago?

AdrianC - When I rang Canadian Square Operations, the chap I spoke to gave me an email address and an address in Worthing to write to. I have sent email requesting a redemption and I'm also going to a write a letter to the address in Worthing. The chap I spoke was in a call centre, and told me if the account was at the closed stage in November 2011 then the debt should still be with them. He did come across as pretty positive and sounded like that he had dealt with it before. Once we've received the redemption figure we can proceed with our buyers and complete the sale. Thank you for your help and advice.0

Good morning all. I have now written to Canada Square Operations and Barclaycard. Asking if they are still the current debt holders? Or if they have passed the debt or sold it to a debt collection agency? And if so which one? I am aware that a lot of the posters on this forum have helped other individuals in the same situation. How quickly could I reasonably expect to get a reply?0
