    But I've rarely seen a rager make themselves happy by doing so.

    I would move on.

    As another poster pointed out, I think you are confusing PPI with interest/account balance. Your PPI claim is for the value of Payment Protection Insurance you paid. It is irrelevant that you never paid off your card in full and so were paying interest, this is not refundable under a PPI claim. Similarly, the fact you had £1000 on the card when you closed it is irrelevant, is its not £1000 of PPI payments. What you need to try and figure out is how much you made in PPI payments.
