microsoft update turns off wifi

Why is it that every time my laptop downloads an evil microsoft update it turns off wifi?
I go to Network & Sharing Centre and turn it on then go to restart and it says 'update & restart' - I have to restart many many time and 'update & restart' does not go away and wifi does not start - why is this and how do I correct it?
It's pretty obvious by now considering the range of your complaints about "evil" things over the last couple of months that you have a major issue with your installation (or your laptop), because nobody else I've ever seen online has the range of issues you do after every update.
If one thing breaks, yes, okay. But you claim to have issues every single update. This is not common, so I think the best thing you can do for yourself is to perform yourself a fresh shiny installation of Windows and it will probably fix 95% of everything you've ever posted about.
If your problems persist after a re-installation then I'm going to argue you have an issue with your laptop.0 -
The common problem with Windows updates on old laptops is they weren’t shipped with Windows 10, the G6 review I saw mentioned Win 7, consequently drivers for Win 10 may not exist.
Be wary of updating older laptops, unless the manufacturer supplies Win 10 drivers, and don’t rely on “generic” Windows drivers.0 -

You are right in saying the laptop did have Win 7 possibly Win 8 when bought now upgraded to Win 10.
Are you thinking of any particular driver0 -
The usual culprits are graphics and battery/mains/screen brightness switching and monitoring. Although any of the drivers could be an issue, including WiFi.You are right in saying the laptop did have Win 7 possibly Win 8 when bought now upgraded to Win 10.

Do HP support Win 10 with updated drivers on the laptop? They should be your first port of call. Don’t be surprised if they don’t though, we have a 2011 vintage Acer that lacks proper battery monitoring, but works in all other respects under Win 10. Acer stated the laptop was shipped with Win 7 and they do not support Win 10 updates.0 -
