  • I would complain but only because I do not believe they would take your overdraft away; probably put you on a more expensive tariff (or you have understood perhaps that part of your overdraft is fee and interest free and it is this that they were talking about by taking it away).

The account comes with nothing to do with an overdraft not even a reduced fee or anything. I was just told point blank it would be removed from me.

With time bars being so valid then, how do people claim back PPi from the 90s etc?
Not everyone was subject to such a time bar.

As already explained, you were sent an annual statement of benefits with a reminder that the accounts were optional which allowed them to start the three year clock.

Yours is not a PPI complaint in any case.

As above, your complaint reasons are irrelevant because your complaint is not even going to be considered.

Some PPI did get timebarred. However, the vast majority never had a trigger point to allow the 3 year clock to start ticking.

PBAs started sending out an annual statement of benefits telling you what you were covered for and that it was optional. So, that allows the 3 year clock to start ticking.

    No.

The packaged bank account came with Travel insurance which I receive through my work, mobile insurance which I had with my contract and breakdown cover, I don't drive.

It never came with an overdraft, I had my overdraft before this silver account was added. But when I tried to remove the silver account I was told that as a result of downgrading my account I would have it revoked.

So why didn't you make a complain at the time instead of leaving it until years and years later.

Do you go into restaurants and complain about bad meals years after it happened :rotfl:

Because I was told my overdraft would be taken away and i was constantly living in my overdraft. I would have loved for them to remove it but I was not in a position to be without it - and I as I couldn't suffer that consequence I had to keep it.

Now I am out of my overdraft I have spoken up.

But waiting to complain has cost you because you are now time-barred as a direct result.

    The end.

    Sorry.

So if I was in your position I would have made a complaint to the bank that the overdraft was in place before you took out the packaged account so they should let you keep it.
