Stressing about completion!!

So after what feels like forever we are hoping to exchange this week with a view to completing later this month. All parties have a provisional date agreed.
I on the other hand am stressing about absolutely every little detail (we've previous had 2 house sales fall through due to people in chains pulling out)
I'm worrying about our mortgage being withdrawn after reading so many horror stories on here (no new credit/loans etc taken out or change in jobs etc) but I'm still stressing 😂 do thry do credit checks again after exchange? I'm panicking so much I checked my credit score and its actually gone up since mortgage offer as has hubby's. Why am I worrying?!
Will we have problems on the day with getting keys as in a chain..... Moving with 2 little ones.... Literally everything is stressing me out to the point I'm not sleeping!
Please tell me I'm not alone!

Yes you are stressing unnecessarily - but that's fairly normal! Relax!
Remember you only read the horror stories here - no one posts here to say "It all went smoothly. I have no issues or questions."
And that's what happens in most cases!0 -
It is a stressful time but you have to try and relax and put it to the back of your mind for your own sake.0

I posted a Stressy post before exchanging on our new house a few weeks ago. I am a control freak, thus buying and selling was basically a form of torture for me as I was not in control of anything. Long chain, relying on others to be reasonable, relying on my experts to be competent. In retrospect it all went rather well, but it felt like a free-fall at the time!
Hopefully soon a distance memory for you. Chin up!0 -
Thank you all. Im a natural worrier and I know everything is in place, we have our mortgage offer, buyers all want to complete on same day (only thing left so we can exchange is our buyers buyer waiting for 1 but of paperwork) I just over think everything. Like my hubby keeps saying "there's no point in stressing about things that are out of your control) and I know he's right but I feel sick all the time!
It took us a couple of places to get a mortgage as I'd just started a new job as I was on maternity leave and most don't want to touch you with a barge pole I guess Im panicking incase for some reason they turn round and decide they wanna pull out even though we have the offer. Eurgh I just want the keys now!!0 -
You might find it helpful to hang out in the Waiting To Exchange thread. Lots of people in there at different stages of the same horrible process for you to commiserate with! FWIW, almost everyone is stressed at this stage in the process, and things do go to plan (or with only minor hiccups) in the majority of cases. Good luck!0

I'll have a look in that forum, thank you!0

Have you thought about getting professional help for your anxiety?0
-
I have done in the past but it's all of this that's triggering it again.0

I don’t know much about anxiety so my suggestions might not help, but as you say your husband keeps saying there is no point stressing about things that are outside your control.
So have you started planning the things you can control - organising removers (getting quotes, etc), buying packing boxes, started to declutter, arranging utility supply dates (once you’ve exchanged this week), etc. Perhaps focus on what you can do, and it might make you feel better?0 -
Thank you for your kind words alex_163163
I think I'm a control freak and a worrier and as everything is out of my hands I'm not dealing with it well. I k ow they say moving is stressful but hand on heart I can safely say even through having kids etc I've not been this stressed!!
As mentioned I have started to declutter and got quote for removals so once exchange as happened we can book them in and start packing and hopefully that will distract me!0
