Tiling over asbestos floor tiles

We have some asbestos in the floor in our dining room. We had someone pour levelling compound on it to even it out, then laminate it. We have three Pointer dogs. It gets wet occasionally, but looks fine.0

When doing re-furbs,this was a problem I often had with customers wanting ceramic/marble tile floors where they had the old Marley tiles. Although the manufacturers of Latex Screeds advised otherwise, this is what I used to do and have never had a complaint or problem in 40 + years. Lift old tiles with a floor scraper, Scrape off as much old bitumin adhesive as you can. Then I used to scour the area with a metal spiked wall roller,as used on painted wall paper removal. Then apply thin coat of Latex Flooring Screed. Then follow tile adhesive advice on sealing with diluted P.V.A. or recommended primer.0
