i don't think Huawei M5 with HiSilicon Kirin 960 is any faster than A10

If you need better processor, you need Snapdragon 835, 845 or 855.
This leave you with Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. They are more expensive.

The easy option is get ipad air / ipad mini 2019 with Apple A12

hi Neil, how do you format the card in this way as that sounds good. at present everytime i move an app to my sd card when the app updates it returns itself back to the internal memory and has to be moved all over again.

So the answer to your question is that there isn’t one. The latest iPad is probably better value than grunty (sic) androids.

With respect, you have had some reasonable replies. You're unlikely to get an Android tablet at the price you want to pay that'll match the "grunt" the 1 year old Ipad your nephew already has, and he probably wont thank you for it even if you did.

There are clearly Android tablets around with lots of grunt. You have not said what your budget is, though. If £400+ is too much, you have your answer.

My feeling is that you assumed the ipad is terribly overpriced, like other apple products, so you'd get an Android for less money that beats it. Curiously, the ipad 2018 is probably the only apple product that's good value. So to beat it you'll have to pay a lot more money.

Basically what I said was, there are only 4 tablet better than his existing ipad 2018.

ipad mini 2019 is the cheapest.
