I have found Now Broadband really good. No worse than any other provider in my area, I got £90 cashback on topcashback and 6 months free now tv entertainment pass. costs £23 a monthAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

I am just moving from Plusnet to Now, as well. Rotten customer service at Plusnet. I am particularly annoyed as I bought John Lewis broadband and ended up with the awful Plusnet service. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

If fttp is being installed in the area then it's probably just as well to go with one of the few isp's who offer a fttp package - BT do, Plusnet don't.0

This is very true. We have FTTP to some of the village - and ISPs other than BT routinely deny the very existence.ciderboy2009 wrote: »If fttp is being installed in the area then it's probably just as well to go with one of the few isp's who offer a fttp package - BT do, Plusnet don't.
I'm considering moving from BT - we've already got the fibre. Do you know who does and who doesn't?0 -

There is a (very small) list on the Openreach website: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/fttp-providers0 -
Thanks - that's a very short list indeed, especially when you pencil-out the (likely expensive) specialists rather than the "cooking" domestic suppliers.ciderboy2009 wrote: »There is a (very small) list on the Openreach website: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/fttp-providers
BT or Zen, then...0 -

Nothing but problems since, asked if I could cancel the contract last week because of this and was told I'd have to pay nearly £200 as only 6 months into an 18 month contract. Used Plusnet for various times since they first started being an ISP. Initially they were really good and responsive, tried to make you feel valued etc, now its just here is what we offer, take it or leave it lolol.
Plusnet do buy BT services, but use their own equipment to a degree. I know for sure, in the same address, I rarely lost connection with BT, I do quite frequently with Plusnet. Might be something to do with the fairly terrible router Plusnet supplies (just had mine replaced). I've had this happen before with Plusnet (had to replace router, its not a good one they use).
Even moving, you might find that you can't cancel the service whilst in contract, that's what happened to me when I moved three years ago. In fact, without realising it, they signed me up to a new 18 month contract.
I will be going back to BT in a year. Never use Plusnet again.
But if you can cancel, the above suggestion about using a dongle is a good one while you get a new ISP sorted (as long as you don't need to download movies and games constantly).
Plusnet and BT are the same company and use exactly the same equipment and connections to your house. The plusnet router is even a BT Home Hub on the inside with slightly different firmware.
What issues are you having exactly? If it's to do with connections on Wi-Fi that is usually a problem with local interference and changing the channel is a good place to start.0 -
EVERY ADSL connection uses the same equipment and connections - with the exception of LLU provision, where you're physically connected to different kit in the exchange. It's merely a change of the back-end supplier, the kit that the exchange-based kit connects to over the single physical connection out from the exchange.Plusnet and BT are the same company and use exactly the same equipment and connections to your house.0
