Me too! I left Halifax for first direct in February and want to go back. Still have a Credit Card and Mortgage with them, so was hoping for an e-mail.

Though now Club Lloyds have the £125 offer to switch I might go with them, Lloyds and Halifax are practically the same anyway I guess!

Just goes to show that there is no reward (excuse the pun) for loyalty, iv'e stayed with Halifax and switched donor accounts instead even though it would have been easier to switch the Halifax account, my son switched away and they reward him with a bribe to return, i like the app and i intend to keep the account but i feel as though iv'e missed out and very surprised at the offer, maybe it's me being greedy, iv'e just done the Lloyds x 2 so feeling a little bit better.
  • I have had this email it says use the switching service
My question is, I have a FD curent account that has no DD no salery/pension paid in opened simply to take advantage of the 5% regular saver does the Halifax offer require DD's and a salery/pension paid in

I don’t think you do. One of the perks of the account is that you get £2 a month for depositing in £500 and having two DD. But you don’t need them with the switch.

Just to confirm guys and gals, I’ve already had my £150 and the switch isn’t even complete yet. Great stuff Halifax:beer::beer:
  • I can confirm that you don't need any DD's or payments into the the new Halifax account, just open one and use the switching service
I have been paid the £150 already and I only started the switched on Monday so not complete and the £150 incentive was paid into my account today
  • I also received something's gone wrong message, when I tried again I received the same message and also says I need to wait for another 30 days to apply. Should I call or visit the branch? Anyone who got this error message was able to switch by calling them or visiting their branch?
  • I had the something went wrong message so I rang them and explained they deleted the application told me to try again, this I did and I was able to switch and get the £150
  • Thank you, I rang them and agent opened the account over the phone, all went good and waiting for £150 now

In terms of loyalty, Halifax were actually one of the very few (possibly only) banks that had a switching incentive running for many years that was available to existing customers prepared to take the same amount of effort to get the reward as a new customer.

You just needed to have (or open) a current account elsewhere, and you could fill in a simple form on the Halifax website to switch it to your existing Halifax account and get £125 (£100/£75 at some point).

It's an offer that was running for ages, and I imagine it's fairly likely to return, so if it does, you could switch your new Lloyds account to your existing Halifax account and pocket the switching bonus with five minutes effort.
