I'd assumed bought with some kind of employee discount, then refunded at full price.
I'd expect the other employees to be disciplined too.
Exactly this. I would imagine that with several employees under investigation and all interviewed separately, one may decide to come clean regarding the group scam and all of those involved in order to try to shift the bulk of the blame to those continuing to deny it.
