This a clear promise in the Labour manifesto which all affected women should be delighted with.
Please don't tar us all with the same brush. I'm a 1950s woman who has been aware of the changes since the mid 1990s and who made the necessary adjustments.
The re-equalisation of State pension ages was long overdue.0 -

I'm an 'affected' woman and do not agree with or support WASPI or Backto60's demands.
@sheslookinhot:
Is it really in the manifesto?
The BBC article says the costing wasn't included in the manifesto.0 -
The campaigners keep banging on about women born in the 1950s, but if this cohort are seen as being robbed, disadvantaged (or whatever emotive bit of terminology they prefer to use) and therefore should be compensated etc etc, what's the cut off point at which it is OK to finally bring about equalisation of state pension ages? Reducing the male retirement age is out of the question on cost grounds.
Seems to me WASPI should in fact be known as WASPE - and I'm sure people can work out what the E stands for!0 -
I suppose Jeremy Corbyn was never going to get much support on a MONEY SAVING website.0

No it's not.
I've just found an article that confirms it isn't.
And if you think what's in a political party's manifesto is a 'clear promise'...:doh:0 -

You sound like you REALLY know what you are talking about. Here is the Manifesto. Please point me to the “clear promise”. https://labour.org.uk/manifesto/0 -

The only thing mentioned in the manifesto itself is a promise to "work with 50s' born women". Nothing less, nothing more.
The Grey Book does not mention any costings for such a promise as apparently it's being thought of like a contingency plan if the Government should lose the court case which of course they already have won unless BT60 gets permission to appeal and the appeal doesn't go the same way.
It will apparently be funded by "borrowing".0 -

Lending money to a Labour government is like lending money to a fekcless chav.

Labour's pledge looks like a vote winner.
Suspected the Conservatives were hastily re-writing their manifesto this morning but it seems they are not attempting to match the pension promise; at least not until they see the gap in support inexorably closing, like 2017 all over again.
It is worth noting that, on the day it published its manifesto in '17, May's campaign was reckoned to have a +90% chance of getting a majority.0 -

As turkeys have more sense than to vote for Xmas. Labour needs to be credible in it's policies. As there's plenty of time yet for the promises of sweets for everyone to unravel. Too many sweets leads to bad decay.0
