LED batten light to replace fluorescent strip light?
If replacing a 60w fluorescent an equivalent led would be about 30w. The light linked to is cool white which will be much whiter than the old light making it feel even brighter.
Led's are more directional than fluorescent tubes but they are not like spotlights with a narrow beam.
If the existing fittings is ok but the tube is 5+ years old and its getting dull then it may just need a new tube. Fluorescents light output drops as they age, so they go dull long before they finally fail.
The light fitting itself is about 20 yrs old, and the plastic diffuser has gone all yellow with age. I’ve tried cleaning it, but it’s not making any difference. I can’t find a diffuser that fits the original fitting, so unless we have a bare tube showing, it’s going to need a complete new light fitting.
