not sure where to post this but i could really do with some advice. My daughter has a set of GHD straighteners and its always mad in the morning with 4 woman in the house all wanting to straighten their hair so i am looking at buying another set of straighteners, however don't really want to pay GHD prices but want the same effect. I have read several threads about cheaper brands but do they do the job??? Any advice would be appreciated.

Im looking for the same for my daughter, not wanting to pay top prices for GHD. I have read about Kodo as another good make but could anyone who has used them give their opinion please.0

hi
i have lots of thick hair and used saks ones for years then they broke i have tried so many different ones since, not prepared to pay ghd prices which i suppose was daft but still.
I have a pair of babyliss ones i got for £29.00 and they are great if they work on me they will work on anybody. I have been using them since april this year and would recommend them0 -
hi
I have some Kodo ones that I bought off ebay for Xmas two years ago, these are fantastic and were half the price of GHD's, heat up very quick and are very reliable. Highly recommend them0 -
sorry but have had other makes and none come close to ghds this is my third pair and i got them free as my pair went wrong and jemella were brill at sending out new pair for nothing. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

I have babyliss pro 230s and they are fab - as good if not better than my ghds which broke!
and a lot cheeper - I got them in Argos a few months ago for around £40.Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention0 -
My oh has had umpteen pairs of straighteners including Baybliss which went straight back to Costco as they were crap (even the cs girl in Costco admitted they weren't a patch on GHD). GHD are the only straighteners she will use...i guess you get what you pay for as she has tried quite a few different makes and none cut the mustard.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

I've used various brands over the years and the ones I have now are Hair Tools and they are fab - by far the best out of all the ones I have ever had. Got them through Ebay for around £30 a couple of years ago and they are still going strong.0

Mine are Remington Gold, as suggested by the name they have gold plates! They have digital controls and heat up to 230 C really quickly. I have had them for about 18 months with no problems and they work really well on my thick manic curls!
Have never owned a set of GHD's as i won't pay that much for a set of straighteners but my hairdresser uses them and I don't notice any difference.0 -
These Remington straighteners are brilliant and i highly recommend them especially at £25.50 inc p&p
