UPDATE at #14
A few months ago there was a letter theft incidence in my flat block. Today I received the aqua credit card without applying for it. I suppose I should call the aqua fraud team? What else should I do?
I use credit card on online shopping for quite a bit, but always pays back full amount. So don't wanna make my online shopping more inconvenient. Any action I can take? Thanks.

Phone them and cancel it. You could also try CIFAS Protective Registration at https://www.cifas.org.uk/services/identity-protection/protective-registration but bear in mind it will also make it a bit more difficult for you to obtain credit as well as any fraudsters.
Was it the actual card or something like "You've been preapproved!"?0 -
its an actual card. thursday received password, then card on friday.
About the cifas.org site, Could you explain what it means by "obtain credit" please? Is it that if I want another credit card, over draft, or mortgage, it will be harder right?
Does it affect my credit score?
Thanks in advance!0 -
A CIFAS protective registration does not impact your 'credit score'. Since lenders neither see nor use your 'credit score', then it doesn't really matter.
I **believe** that having the protective registration would mean an application for credit can no longer be done automatically. I **believe** there would have to be manual human checks.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

W2L has the same understanding as I do about placing a CIFAS marker yourself.
Probably would be best in the circumstances.
Have you checked all your credit files to see if there are any other financial institution searches?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Thanks both.
Where do I check my credit files?
I check things on a site called noddle, now it's call credit karma I believe. I had a look, don't think aqua ever did a search on me? The last search was done by credit karma, it's for identification check? Then the previous ones were by end may, I was opening some saving account around that time.0 -
Get full 'snapshot' access to your three credit files:
Experian = MSE Credit Club
Equifax = Clearscore
TransUnion = Credit KarmaI work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

do you mean I should use one of the three you mentioned above instead? Thanks. I'm new to this.0

I mean you should use all three CRAs at the same time. Creditors record data in different credit files. For instance, you have said the Aqua search was not recorded on Credit Karma. Then you should find it on Equifax or Experian. You need to see all three files to get the full picture...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Newday (Aqua) credit search shows up on MSE credit club (Experian), not the other two. Use of the card shows on all three of them.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
