False equivalence. This is more akin to you potentially having broken your leg, despite it being unlikely and are awaiting the result of the xray but still panicking. Even the doctor would tell you to relax

If you had broken your leg and needed help healing it and are very worried and I told you to chill making you feel like you exaggerate the situation, would you interpret that as good advice?
clearly this is more a community of friends rather than advice I do not appreciate passive aggressive comments.
The solicitors has only given us this email in the evening, it was this morning they have said the property did not pass the environmental search.

    Hi Alexa
If you dont like the FREE advice on her I would suggest you ring your solicitor who would be as polite as you would like (for a fee of course)
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
  • There is a nicer way in telling someone that, for example: don’t worry, it will workout or I have experience in this and I know it’s not a big deal so try not to overthink. I’ve been on many other forums and I would never see such remarks, but each to their own.
  • I don't believe that is the situation you presented.

I am friends with no one on here, but still was rather surprised by your reply. No tolerance for the difference in personality types at all.

Your responses, I am afraid, just demonstrate how much you need to take the advice. Yes its a stressful situation, but no need to jump down someone's metaphorical throat over the use of an inoffensive word. With all you have going on, I think you are better off spending the energy elsewhere.

It's not a big deal is precisely what doozergirl told you.

    Well that escalated quickly!

It was meant in a nice way, I'm not entirely sure how that one word comes with connotations of much else when it comes with reassuring advice.

It ended up being more relevant than I thought.

These things come in threes don't they? This is the third bit of random abuse I've been subject to this week.

  • In that case Im sorry if you didn’t mean it in a bad way, usually people use that word more so in passive aggressive way rather than a genuine “stay calm”. So I’m sorry for misinterpreting it.

Thank you. That's really good of you. :)

Isn't that exactly what you were told?

How did you interpret the word "Chill"?

Lashing out at other people who are just trying to help is a very childish way of behaving.

If the property is recent enough to be covered by nhbc, then there'll probably be more useful environmental reports in the planning papers, including details of any remediation strategy. Has anyone bothered to look at those?
