Hi all
I would like an answer to this question. I was checking my credit score as i want to get myself debt free down to under 1000 now so i set about checking the balance of my accounts.
Years ago i got into debt with a credit card with littlewoods.
I setup an arrangement with littlewoods barclay via standing order never missed a payment since.
I contacted barclays today to find out the balance and they said it was £5.59when they sold debt to pra group. I was not notified
Sounds strange.
So i contact pra and they say i owe them £345.59 omg what has happened.
Have they whacked £340 charge onto the debt this can not be right.
What and who should i contact.
Thanks in advance its my first post.

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
Contact PRA for a breakdown of the debt.0

This makes no sense.
If you were repaying Barclays and the debt was down to £5.59 why would they have sold the debt? No sense here.
When debt is sold charges are not added on like this.
You say you were checking the balance of your accounts on your credit report. What is the status of this account? Presumably the original account was defaulted? If not, what is its status and how has it been being reported for the 'several' years that have passed. Does it show the balance reducing to £5.59 and then increasing again or what? If defaulted, when was the default date.
If you have been making payments to Barclays and the balance was down to £5.59 a) how much were you paying and for how much longer did you continue paying and b) if you have paid more than £5.59 since the debt was down to that amount, what has happened to the rest of the money? Who has it?0 -
