Mazuma Mobile — broken promises, no payment
Upgrading to a new phone usually involves selling the old one. Apple offers terrible prices, eBay charges high fees, Facebook Marketplace poses face-to-face risks.
So in the past I have used large companies such as Mazuma Mobile.
This company explicitly promises same-day payment. They received my phone at 9.01am this morning. They confirmed this by e-mail at 9.55am.
It is now 6:44pm and I have heard nothing more. Certainly no payment has been received.
So now I’ll have to take time out of my day tomorrow to chase it up. The whole point of these big resellers is that it’s easier.
Be warned.

You do realise it's probably their busiest time of the year when all the Apple upgraders sell their old phones?
It's a bit OTT to be crying like you've been ripped off on the same day the phone arrived.====0 -

A well-run, trustworthy company would not make promises it knows it cannot keep.
The e-mail I received this morning could have said “This is a very busy time for us so your payment may be delayed.” It did not.
Their website continues to claim — very clearly — that payments are made same-day. It would be very easy to change it and say that this is their busiest time. They have not done this.0 -

Their website actually has a disclaimer...Same day payment*
You want your money. You want it fast. We understand. So we promise to make payment on the same day we receive your phone!
* Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Same day payment does not apply to orders received after 2pm (most are) and in events that are out of our control.
If they can process 60 phones a day and receive 90 because everyone is selling their iPhone it's not really in their control to process all of them.====0 -

Is it really so unreasonable of me to expect them to tell me what’s going on? Would it be so hard to send an e-mail, or adjust the current automated one, to give people current information. And to do so on the website with the the same headline clarity and not hide it in a footnote.
How do the other posters to this thread react when they are made a promise to pay hundreds of pounds which is not then kept and no explanation is offered.0 -

I think you're jumping the gun, the anger and angst you're showing might be appropriate if you get to the end of tomorrow without payment, but going off in vent mode within 12 hours of the item being delivered is just a bit OTT.====0
