    I agree with JJ Egan - if you have watched TV Broadcasts without a Licence then the best thing is to plead guilty and get the slightly lower fine.

    Having dealt with the Prosecutions Team myself, I've found them to be quite belligerent. You can try (on the basis that cancelling the DD was a "mistake", and you want to now pay for a Licence). In theory, they may suspend the prosecution, although they may be reluctant because you cancelled before.

    Even if you don't watch or record live TV broadcasts, it will be hard to justify to the court why you subscribe to Virgin TV if you only watch Netflix and Youtube.
