Howdy!
When I decided on one of the rare occasions to use the landline phone, it was dead . No noise at all . I investigated doing the basic checks that I'm used to doing . Nothing . So, I decided to do "live chat". Couldn't do that after giving my name and 4 digit security code
So, I decided to call them on 191. The queue was long so I pressed 1 for callback . It was later than I was told by the machine . No biggy as I believe in being polite and laid back.
In the meantime , my landline was working again .
Fair enough , I told the chap from Egypt that not to worry, as everything is fine .

While the polite person from the Egyptian call centre was over apologising ( no need ) he started going through my account and telling me I could have x y z phone etc. Something I'm not interested in at the moment as I've gone sim only .
I did ask him could he take off secure net which costs an extra £1 a month which I don't need . His English was not the greatest , fair enough. He said he would phone me in 5 mins to confirm that it is done . I received a call back .." hello mate . I'm calling to make sure everything is ok mate . How's your day mate .." I just said fine thanks

The second person never even said hello mr casualty . Just mate .
I think he phoned from Vodafone Ireland .

I then receive an email saying " we've switched off your age restricted content bar . "

Okay , !!!!!! . I have praised and criticised Vodafone in the past when I have had issues ,and normally they compensate and apologise.
I have been with them since I got my first mobile in 1999
I have their broadband since I moved home in 2016
However loyal I am , I'm not their mate !

Just to add, as I was typing this I got a callback from the first guy.
I told him exactly what I just mentioned above . He was more or less offering a thousand apologies .
Not impressed . So eventually I saiid " bye mate "

I now have 2 texts saying it looks like I've done something to my phone .

Where do they get these people ?

If this is not sorted , they can go and do one

Just got a text telling me that an engineers visit is booked and that they tried to contact me .

I then got the questionnaire text which i gave them zero and my reasons .
    I hate big companies ..
  • I've never known a broadband service as terrible, and a customer service section as incompetent. I curse the day I ever joined them.

    I feel your pain;)
Trouble is , all these big companies are the same unfortunately imho.
Can't believe I've been with them so long .
When I was up against it in 2012 and was on a dmp, I went to one of their branches to upgrade . The snotty pos in the store made me complain and I got £5 compensation . If I wasn't so broke the time I would've walked and told them to stick it .
Since then , their customer service had improved . When I tried to go sim only 3-4 years ago they changed my mobile no. So I didn't put the sim in and kept it . My patience has paid off since then , and they were actually professional regarding broadband issues in the past .
I prefer them to Bt though :o

They are very good at the apologies.

Not so quick to fix the problem!
