  • Hi, are you a hoarder and that is what is stopping you selling via an auction. If you cant cope with letting go of your hoard you need help with this.


    If not then auction is the way to go.

  • OP - you're making assumptions based on nothing. You need to do only one thing: pick up the phone and speak to an estate agent. Ideally you'd speak to three, but if that sounds too hard, just call the one. That's all you need do: one phone call. The rest will gradually happen, step by step.

    It sounds as though you find even that too hard, so I'd support the poster who says you sound like you're suffering from depression and a visit to your GP would probably also be a good thing.

    Knocking it down will achieve nothing other than make it even more un-sellable, plus cost you money to do it, and probable fines for having done so illegally. Just make that one phone call and you'll find you'll sleep better.

    I think the best thing you can do is to make 2 phone calls tomorrow morning.

    1.) Ring your Doctor and get an appointment to talk to them about how you are feeling.
    2.) Get an estate agent around to give you advice on selling it.

    I agree with others - your house will be perfectly sellable, its just a question of how much it will sell for. If your house is in a large plot with some unique 17th century quirks which can be repaired/salvaged, I guarantee you it will be worth a lot more than you think it will be. We're probably talking £100,000's (Smallish plots alone go for that).

    Certainly, enough that if you sell your house you should be able to find somewhere much nicer/more manageable. Are there any new build bungalows or things being built locally near you?
  • You can’t just abandon your property you will still be responsible for it.

    Some people with mortgages just hand the keys back to the bank and then the bank puts it in an auction which sells for very very cheap and the bank chases the former owner for the negative equity they still owe.
