Debate House Prices

It would be daft to abandon a house because it's still a liability - you've not gained anything by walking.
It can be sold. Get estate agents over to value it. Worst case scenario is it goes to auction. Somebody will be looking for something and will have money to pay for it.
Whatever it is, it's better to walk away with cash and no worries than walking away with nothing but worries and it's still out here haunting you.0 -
If you want rid of it you can always put it to auction - someone will buy it to do up. People will and have bought shells without roofs to fix up. It's all about price.
If you do leave it obviously abandoned, then you're likely to run into issues with travellers/squatters/urban explorers/junkies, as well as any associated costs like cleanup and securing it.
I very much doubt "travellers/squatters/" would come here even though they are low lifes they probably have some standards0 -
Instead of abandoning the house why not get it cleared out, put the stuff outside, put a couple of posts on FB / freecycle / local newsagents / local shop card / rural auction and some photos offering it all free of charge, to who ever wishes to collect. Get your mates round to give to a hand to life it all out, put into one room anything you wish to keep.
What is left after a week or so, get a skip and get it gone.
Next get a builder round, to find out how much the roof will cost to fix, or for him to put a very large tarp. over it. Board up the windows. Make it weather tight.
Get an electrician round, ask again how much for a rewire / new sockets etc.
Ask around to see if anyone would like to purchase it off you, developers are always looking for land / properties.
It has to be worth something.
Like others have said the council will be after you for costs etc if you just wander off.

Everything has a value (sometime negative!).
In this case, your property is obviously not worth 0, even if it is cluttered, falling to pieces. You should see what similar property's sell at (by similar I mean size and location). Deduct the approx. cost to bring it to said spec, deduct some more for the effort the buyer will need to incentivise them and job done!
Dependent on how much discount you give for the 'effort' is what will entice buyers - you could sell it within a month if you go aggressive.0 -
All land has a value and is sellable - it is only agricultural
It can't be only agricultural if it has a lawful dwelling on it (and you have mains electricity? bonus!)
Of course you may be in the back end of nowhere where no-one wants to live, but there'll be some daft townie that wants a part 17th century hovel to keep chickens in.
Unlisted 17th C is a bonus too as it's historic but without the restrictions imposed by listing.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

OP you seem depressed and can't summon the energy to move forward. How old are you? Can you ask friends or relatives for help?
Would you see your GP? Then you might be able to formulate a plan to sort the house out and either sell it or carry on living there. Local charities might help if you reach out to them.
On here we can help with ideas and support but not the actual practicalities. Good luck.0 -

Wales is full of abandoned houses.
We used to know the old lady who lived in a farmhouse half a mile from us. She died about 20 years ago and the beneficiaries don't seem interested. it's still sound, but ivy has got a hold, the gutters are blocked, and it will be derelict in another 20. I did report it to the council - there's an online scheme which is meant to cause them to take it over - but they aren't interested.
Our house came with its original derelict cottage for an extra £2,000 - I'd offered £1,000 but they wanted £3,000, so we compromised. Only an idiot would have bought it to try and make money from, and I was the only buyer.
