you lot are always this nice to someone posting what they think is a bargain? to be honest even if it is her site so what? its still cheaper than amazon by a fair amount so its still a bargain. but there is no evidence to suggest that it is anyway
At this time of the year some people will leap before they look with what seems to be good bargains. If the site was anything to do with the OP then that is against forum rules.
Most of us that have been here for a while tend to be more cautious and try to make sure people know what they are getting themselves into so they cant blame the board if nobody raised any concerns about it... If you were here last Christmas you would have seen it in action with the numerous console game bargains that were posted and people bought but never received, and also some very sinister transactions occurring on peoples cards who used the sites...
That said I would rather you were complaining about members being over cautious than complaining about being ripped off.0 -
It does seem to be attack attack attack on here sometimes. Remember, if you have a credit card, purchase protection will protect you against any 'dodgy' purchases made online or in store.0

Could you please tell me about that comment...??? Why does it seem that way??.MissHB-AFC wrote: »Remember, if you have a credit card, purchase protection will protect you against any 'dodgy' purchases made online or in store.
But what if they just take your details and run up hundreds or thousands worth of debt???? Might get your money back but could take a while. At least were trying to be cautious and not so wreckless as to say I have insurance so not caring if I get scammed0 -
I think the style of the post + the newbie poster instantly puts people on their guard
then coupled with the other information available from WHOIS and Companies House, this really does look even more suspicious
I've been a member here for ages, but I did not join to post an offer, I joined to ask questions, leave comments and, over time, I have posted a few good offers. (21 by the looks of the thanks I've received!!!)
Someone who goes to the trouble to sign up just to post an offer is always going to be open to suspicion.
such is life
(n.b. fwiw my RNG reckons there is an 87.6% chance that the OP IS connected

Actually posts like yours are part of the problem, you are not covered by ANY credit card unless the transaction is for a single item of £100 or more, please be sure of your facts before you post them here otherwise you will give people a false sense of security.0 -
The address registered with companies house is different to the one on the website. Also its concidental the company and op are both from Manchester.
Someone mentioned the company number on the site. It is on the site under term and conditions.
Dont think its dodgy but a think there is a connection with the op somewhere. Frankly if its a genuine site and you have no problems buying from them then so what.0 -

I admit this is an unfortunate situation. But when you have people joining and posting for the first time you have to be cautious... I think that is why people feel hard done by. They know if they have a financial interest in the site or not we dont but put yourselves in the position of the members who have been here for years...
At least once a week you get spam on here from someone.. People who have "Just found this great cheap site". The ones who just want to make a quick buck... Some may say whats the harm in that if its cheap??.. The answer is, that if we are not cautious the vultures, scam artists, and phishers move in and the board becomes their feeding ground. Thats why all low post bargain finders get scrutinized more than high posters (although they too get comments if the deal isn't up to scratch or the site seems dodgy)0 -
I have to say I'm always very suspicious of first post bargains from sites nobody's ever heard of. For instance, if Elise had made her first post about an uber-bargain at JohnLewis, then there would have been absolutely no suspicions of it. This is a hugely busy/influential site and we HAVE to be on our guard when a first-time poster posts something like this. It would hardly be the first time we've had site owners peddling their wares on here for free. I feel absolutely no guilt in questioning this.
PS It's not even much of a bargain IMO. Sorry.0 -

You obviously havent been visiting lately it's more like 2 or 3 times a day now, we get the "i've found a great site" spam, but now the worst is "I want to know this or the cheapest place to buy that" these posts are filling this forum up lately.0
