There are a couple of reasons why this company is dodgy on top of the incorrect registration of the domain name:
1) It it a legal requirement that they list statutory company information (such as company number) on their website. They don't do this.
2) They are registered at Companies House as a Dormant (i.e. non-trading) company. Accounts were filed as recently as 31/08/07 to state this. Can I help?0 -
Oops. Oh dear.0

They do appear to have an ebay shop with decent feedback... Not totally convinced the OP is nothing to do with the company but hey ho benefit of the doubt and all that...

Hi
Sorry about the forum post title, not sure how to change it. Any help appreciated.
Hi saintscouple, the Straighteners offered are much better than the ones you have found. They are listed at £79.99 on Amazon here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Babyliss-Pro-Straightener-designed-Professionals/dp/B000P3IS7O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=personal&qid=1195904207&sr=1-1
The hairdryer is listed at £19.99 here on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Babyliss-Passion-Power-Hairdryer-1600w/dp/B000Y9X58G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1195904613&sr=1-1
You can see how it adds up. £88 is really a good price.
My friend called this morning to say she had recieved hers so no problem at all.
regards.
Elise
The OP has gone to a great deal of effort to research something that she has no financial interest in?! :rolleyes:Gone ... or have I?0 -
What address? The one they have on prominent display at the bottom of the webpage?
But its supposed to be registered as a business website not for an individual like it is.... The address at the bottom might not even be the same one that is registered to the website and therefore no way of getting in contact with the seller. You can write any address on your website.. It doesnt make it the right one and could be a complete scam.0 -
I am not having a go I am mearly pointing out discrepencies that are going on... The site may well be 100% OK but it is at least our duty to flag up any concerns that we might have to stop people getting stung. I was just being cautious as it was the posters first thread and according to WHOIS there isnt meant to be a business being run from that website making the site "Dodgy or illegal"0

Hi
Thank you for your comments. I hope the points help anyone when purchasing online.
I always try to be aware of where I put my credit card details. I once got my card cloned online and couldn't use it all weekend which was a major headache.
My experience with the company has been always been positive otherwise I wouldn't have posted. I always make sure when I enter my credit card details the page is secure.
I researched the prices on Amazon before I bought to make sure it was a good offer. Got a budget for christmas and any savings help.
There is on opportunity for anyone here to save money and I've benefitted from the offer without any problems.
regards.

you lot are always this nice to someone posting what they think is a bargain? to be honest even if it is her site so what? its still cheaper than amazon by a fair amount so its still a bargain. but there is no evidence to suggest that it is anyway0

Wow, this is so familiar, I know exactly how you feel Elise, I once posted something on here, the comments I received made me feel so terrible I ended up asking for it to be removed.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to post. It might not be everyones cup of tea but then it will probably help others!

I wish I had been as capable to do all the links etc when I was such a newbie as elise33.
It was all I could do to manage a post, let alone start a thread
Then some might say I haven't got much better
