Update 10/12
I just thought I'd update the thread with an overall wider picture as to what I now believe has happened and what has trigged the above.
My sister (who lives at the same address as myself) attempted to open up an Aqua Credit Card at the beginning of September. The application had been initally placed as pending due to the belief her details had been used 'fraudulently'. The first letter she had received was on the 22nd October stating that after an investigation, she wasn't liable and they placed a CIFAS victim of impersonation record on her file. She immediately phoned them to confirm it was herself who made this application, to which they removed this from her file.
Since my last post on the 8th October and the 22nd October, I attempted to use my Aqua Credit Card to be told it was closed on September 18th and a letter had been sent (I never received any letter). This date is also very interesting as it also co-incides with the date that the Santander accounts were closed.
Also, at this point, my access to my Experian account via MSE Credit Club was revoked (it would not update and just gave unable to locate information on every section), and going to Experian directly flagged up they could not verify me.
On the 14th October, I received Halifax and Bank of Scotland 60 day closure letters. I received DSAR's from them and can see a 646 marker was placed on the accounts.
At this point, I raised a complaint with Aqua due to the lack of information around my account closure.
I have since had no communiction from Aqua aside from the fact they are investigating and I do appreciate it's likely to take some time.
Fast forward to today, nearly 8 weeks after the complaint was raised, I now have access to my MSE Credit Club report as well as via Experian directly.
CheckMyFile and Clearscore are all looking okay and my credit score is looking good.
All my other accounts are still operating as normally and Santander have allowed me to re-open an account with them with an overdraft limit.
I get that Fraud processes and procedures are there to protect people ; and trust me, I am grateful they are there, however instances like this one, has caused me nothing but stress and anxiety from the outset. It's not something that is very nice to go through especially when you are a totally innocent party.
From the above (And I hope I've formatted it clear enough), it's clear to see that somehow, my sisters application has triggered some sort of response against me which in turn has caused Aqua (New Day), Santander and Lloyds Banking Group to react in the way that they did.
It would be interesting to be able to find out whether there was ever anything on CIFAS but you can't unless a company that put it there but since removed it tells you!
Did you DSAR National Hunter?
What did the LBG closure letters say? Was it the "We need to make sure our accounts are managed as well as we would expect and are not a potential risk to our business. A recent risk assessment on your accounts has highlighted concerns and as a result we have taken the decision to close all the accounts you currently hold with us in two months time" letter? Anything in the customer contact notes on the date this letter was issued?0 -
I see nothing in the update you have given that would have caused this much stress and so many account closures. I am baffled all this has happend to you just because fro what i can gather ur sister made a legitmate application to AQUA0

FYI next time you do a CIFAS request - dont post it. I did one about three weeks ago, i filled in the form online and requested documentation via email within three days of submitting my online form.
Its soo much quicker. I think you should do another CIFAS SAR online because alot has happened since your first SAR and who knows what companies have put on what since then0 -

That's the exact letter I had received ; FD206 I believe it was referenced.
I haven't checked the National Hunter.
I was originally being rejected for basic bank accounts around the October timeframe however that issue now seems to be completely resolved so it's almost as if there was something there that isn't anymore if that makes sense?Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270 -

I recently posted this in another thread. I assume it says the same in your LBG customer notes:

I'd definitely DSAR National Hunter. That has everything to do with applications.0 -

Yeah, I also have that exact same note in there too!Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270 -

It might be worth trying to see if you can get any information out of the LBG Account Review Team by phoning them up. They may just give you a hint as to what information they considered when making their decision or might just give you a blanket "you just don't meet our criteria" line. If the former then you could ask them to review their decision in light of current information.0 -
Update 18/02/21
Hey everyone, I just thought I'd come back and update you all as to what has happened since I last posted.
The FOS contacted me today with the outcome of my complaint to them ; although my CIFAS record was clear when I had done my SAR, Aqua had shortly afterwards loaded a marker against my name. I am unsure which category at this point as my other bank accounts continued to operate and I have successfully obtained credit since then.
However after the investigation, Aqua had confirmed it was linked to when my sister had applied and I was wrongly marked as the person trying to take out the credit. The CIFAS marker has been removed from my name, the Aqua card has been re-opened with the full credit limit restored and I was awared £650 of compensation.
I fully respect these processes are there to protect innocent people from any wrongdoing and while I was wrongly accused by NewDay, I am glad of the outcome.Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 202713 -

Well done.4 -
I felt it was the least I could do given so many people offered their advice during the whole process.
The next step is going to see if I can get off the Lloyds 'blacklist' since they accounts were closed around the same time as this all started.Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20273
