Hi I got married yesterday do I have to send my marriage certificate to change my name on my benefit claims? I only have one certificate so I’m worried they may lose it.
I’ve tried googling it but I can’t find anywhere that states if I need to send it or not

If you take your marriage certificate into a jobcentre, they can copy if for you and notate it as a certified copy. You can then send off the certified copies without any risk of losing the original.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Benefits & tax credits, Heat pumps and Green & Ethical MoneySaving forums. No it would have to be a job centre, or you could get additional copies from the registrar.0

I have a related question: if you photocopy a necessary document yourself and bring it in with the original so they can see it's the same, do they accept that?0
