Returned Item Missing

Hi all,
I recently took part in the PC World / Google 90 Day Chromebook trial.
Sadly, I decided to return the Chromebook to Google.
The company that administers it, Opia, instructed me to use the self service label they provide to send the item to them. I printed it off, and attached it to the box. The label was Parcelforce 48 with the sender as Opia, and the delivery address was to Google.
I therefore took the item to a Post Office and dropped the item off, receiving a receipt (12/9/19). The following day the item has changed to 'collected' (13/9/19).
Opia have told me the item has not been received and Parcelforce state the item is lost but I can't fill in a claim as the Opia did not pay for insurance?!. Opia have therefore said I will not receive my refund (£449!).
What are my rights here?
Opia do state in their terms that they are 'not liable for loss in transit', but isn't it just negligent to force the customer to use their prepaid postage which doesn't cover loss?!
Ahhhh. Thank you.

What was wrong with the other thread you posted yesterday?
Very poor form to spam the forum with the same query over and over.0 -
Different user, copy and paste of same issue...Life in the slow lane0

They may not have paid for insurance but before sending an expensive product like that I would have asked about insurance so I had the option of paying for it myself0

Presumably Parcel Force were contracted by Opia to deliver the parcel. The fact they didn't is not the OP's problem so should get their money back. It would have been different if they had asked PF to deliver.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
