Microsoft are offering all UK students (see qualifying criteria here: https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayOrderInformationPage&SiteID=msshuk&Locale=en_GB&Env=BASE#q1) Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 Edition for £38.95.
The offer ends 30 April 2008.
What's on offer
This is a full retail license on offer NOT an academic license. This means that it can be used for commercial purposes and can be used by anyone who also happens to use the computer that it is loaded on. I also believe that this means it can be resold once to a third party.
What's more this isn't Microsoft's cut-down "Student and Teacher" version of Office 2007 but the Ultimate edition (for a comparison of the different versions of Microsoft Office 2007 go here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101635841033.aspx, but note that the Accounting package isn't available in the UK).
As with any Microsoft Office software you buy at retail, you are licensed one copy of the software for use on one device and are allowed to install another copy on a portable device for use by the single primary user of the licensed device. (https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayOrderInformationPage&SiteID=msshuk&Locale=en_GB&Env=BASE#q5)
Who's eligible
The eligibility for this offer is limited to a narrower group of people than Micrsoft Office Student and Teacher, namely "higher education" and "further education students".
How to purchase
Goto www.theultimatesteal.co.uk and place your order, simple.
Other things to know
The price doesn't include a hard-copy (i.e. DVD of the software) but this can be purchased for under £10.00 and there is also an "extended download" option for even less.

Can this be put on more than one computer in the house? I'm guessing that if I download directly, it will just install direct on that computer? But, if I pay the extra to get the CD posted out, can I then put it onto both computers in the house?

No, 1 licence for 1 computer. I think it may be possible to install on a laptop in addition but that's as far as it goes."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It's for higher education students not school pupils. Your childrens' school may have some sort of campus scheme with Microsoft for some kind of office discount but they won't be eligible for the ultimate steal offer as a .ac.uk email address is required."She is quite the oddball. For those who aren't uni students they can get numerous MS products cheap at www.software4students.co.uk even if they have kids in school! With software4students you also get the installation disk and licence key. I bought Office 2007 pro plus from them and it's been great - I wouldn't go back to 2003. I would also say that software4students delivers when they say they will (I know many people who have bought from them - students, paretns and tutors/teachers). I know I 've posted thsi before but I thought I woudl post again just in case the 'search' function isn't working again.0
