The SO Is telling me different things.
One minute we are near ready for exchange, the next not.
Another minute , no enquiries sent to someone and the next they have been.
I can understand the bull from the EA but surely the SO should be on track with what they are doing?0 -
The solicitor shouldn't be saying enquiries are complete if they are not so no idea about that. In terms of going on holiday, they would not tell you about that. however, you should have the main number for the firm so ring them and just ask to speak to the person covering while your solicitor is on holiday.
I have to say, i was very lucky with my solicitor but I do appreciate many have lots of live cases so they can't always update you as often as you would like.
Call the practice and ask for an update on which enquiries are still outstanding. Then ring the EA and ask them to chase these directly with the vendor.0 -
Hi
I am looking for advice from anyone that has been in my situation before.
I am in the middle of buying a shared ownership property, mortgage adviser went to apply for my mortgage and told me there was a problem with the leasehold and that it needs extending before I can apply for my mortgage as it needs at least 85 years on it.
I am not sure what I do next or who to contact? I have contacted the estate agent.
And I'm not sure who will pay for the lease extension or if it has to be done? Should it be an option for me to look at another lender or will every lender want at least 85 on the lease.
I am a first time buyer and feel like I dont have a clue
Any comments with people that have been in this situation before would be much appreciated0 -
