Does SSE Smart Meter work for EDF

Hi, SSE installed a smart meter in our house 4 years ago and it's worked perfectly, even when we moved to British Gas. Now we've switched to EDF and they want to know if we want a smart meter installed. Will our current smart meter be readable by EDF or should we accept a new one?

You'd do better to get it removed and replaced with a traditional meter.....0

Assume it will not work in smart mode.
If it does, then so be it.
If it doesn't, you are unlikely to get another one. You'll be expected to wait for the OTA upgrade promised when it will magically spring back into life.:)0 -
Thanks folks. Reply from EDF said they cannot connect to either the electricity one or the gas one to read them remotely. The electricity one is a new digital meter below the fuse box, the gas one is fastened onto the outside of the grey box where the gas enters the house. Both are very easily read manually, other than having to kneel down in the hall cupboard. EDF have given us the options of either having new smart meters installed or us supplying our own readings with them doing an occasional one themselves. We've decided to supply our own readings.0
