hi
I've had this phone for 25 months. I didnt upgradeafter 24 months because I am happy with it, I am with EE and changed to Sim only recently.
When I have no wifi and using 4g I can go on sites like facebook and although it loads it wont load any photos.
If I go on google it lets me say put martin lewis forum in and will list the options but wont connect, it says cannot get secure connection to server. I took the phone to the shop and they changed the sim card but its the same. Is it something in the settings or do I need a new phone? the shop couldnt help, they said it probably had a 'bug'
thanks

Try another web browser, like Firefox.0

And make sure that under Settings > Mobile Data, your browser is not set to not use mobile data - iPhones allow individual apps to be blocked from using mobile data while they remain able to use WiFi.0

My Wife has the 5s using the £7.50 monthly Tesco contract. I have used the block downloading photos facility on mobile data as my Daughter downloads endless photos of the Grandchildren which used her monthly data allowance up within a week or so. Just means we have to wait until we get home to get the photos on wifi. One problem we find with Apple is that you need mobile data or wifi on to send or receive texts to other Apple phones, would be more than happy to just revert to the texts that you pay for but don't no how.0

Settings, messages, turn off iMessage.
However, iMessage is a secure message facility that gives “free” messages to other iThings using your data allowance. There are two major advantages over SMS messages (a) it is end to end encrypted and (b) is free to message foreign numbers.0 -

I recently went for £10/m 8GB contract with Three which even offers some decent holiday roaming. Many networks are now offering data bundles with 1GB upwards for under £10. I think you should have another look at that non optimal Tesco contract.
I have the PAYG Tesco sim and bought their £10 rocket pack when we went away. Came back home and had used less than 1 GB as all the hotels had wifi. Unfortunately the pack only last for one month so lost it a few days ago as I took off the auto renewal. Changed my Wife to the Tesco contract as she was spending over £20 per month on PAYG.0 -
Which version of iOS are you using?
The iPhone 5s can run iOS 12.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Its just updated last week to the latest one. I am wondering if I need a new phone!0
