New contract instead of upgrade
I’m looking for a new phone. I’ve found the deal I want but it’s cheaper as a new contract than an upgrade. I can’t change network as only o2 works well where I live. I have seen that is possible to PAC your number to a third network and back again. Firstly has anyone done this and does it work? Secondly how long does each move take? Thank you

Not a direct answer to your question but have you phoned O2 to see if they will match the new customer offer. Nothing ventured...............0

It’s via mobiles.co.uk so I assume not?0

There are providers who use the o2 network such as Tesco mobile which in my experience gives a better deal than o2 itself
also Sky and GifGaf use o2
You will need the PAC to move

Have you thought about wifi calling as an alternative?
I have a similar problem at home as there is no mobile signal but my IDmobile phone does wifi calling perfectly. That would mean not being stuck to O2 and you may find a cheaper contract with another provider that does wifi calling.0 -

Haven't tried it but interesting ideas on how to get your pac code..0 -
AFAIK, you can transfer your number within O2 without and third network and any PAC
