When was the accident? What's the rush?
The rush is (1) to avoid the OP making any ill-advised decisions and (2) to make sure all relevant evidence is secured.

I had experience of dealing with Direct Line who were just appaling, lied bullied did everything they could to avoid paying anything. I also was rear ended with you children in the car.

Don't make the mistake I did and try and talk to them, let a solicitor do it , find another one though.
  • You must go to a accident management company. The working out of your losses and compensation is a complicated thing and only they will know after an interview with you what is affected in your life after the accident happened. The claims department of insurance companies job is to pay as little as possible to a claimant. And from what I read in your post you will have many things in your case to cover. This advice comes from 15 years in accident management never lost a case. Now Retired I wish you all the best for your recovery.

when i spoke to my solicitor she advised that as the lady had already addmitted vault then i could go directly to her insurance company without the need of a solicitor

This is appalling advice. If you have any evidence of that (perhaps they put it in writing or they record their calls) I would be making a formal complaint against the solicitor.

You need a solicitor to protect your interests, ensure that any settlement is fair and, even more importantly, ensure that the door is left open for further redress in the event that you have complications further down the line.

You need to appoint a solicitor. Do not go to no-win-no-fee firm. These guys are the bottom feeders of the legal profession and are only interested in the slam-dunk cases. Get yourself a proper lawyer and take advice.
