Hi guys,
I have a Citroen c2, 1.1 on an 05 plate. I have done 73K miles.
I would like to know when I should change my cambelt?
I’ve tried looking in the handbook but I can’t find the information anywhere.
I’ve not had it changed yet
Thanks

It is overdue then, It says the info in the service manual. It can be hard to find though.0

Dont know of any cars that have a belt interval of 14 years.
Get it done asap.0 -
80k/10yrs, whichever comes first. If there's no documentation to show it's been done, DO IT.0

Thanks for your replies guys
I forgot to add-
I’m looking to buy and have a car within up to 6 weeks. I’ll get scrappage allowance for this car which is £2000, and the car is only worth 500:
So do I get it fixed just to be on the safe side... I guess so?0 -
You're chopping it in in six weeks? And it's going to be weighed in...?
Don't bother.

Use the money it would have cost to buy a banger to last a few weeks. I wouldn't get it done; chances are it'll be fine.
I can’t remember if they said it was a cambelt or toning belt I needed . But they said just for the belt, labour and everything it would cos around £100. If I was to have the whole kit , it would cost way more- but obv I would just go for the belt- if I was to have it done
I never thought about getting a banger abtually! Good poiint0 -

The camshaft operates the valves. It needs to be in precise sync with the crankshaft, else valves hit pistons and all sorts of chaos gets let loose inside the engine. But they said just for the belt, labour and everything it would cos around £100. Cambelt, timing belt. Same thing.

I suspect you misheard. Either the parts alone are £100, plus labour, or they're talking about a different belt, the ancillary one that drives the alternator.
I am 95% certain he said it’s jist the cambelt or timing belt (whichever one it was) that needed doing. I don’t want the whole kit, just the belt0
