  • Well I don't work for MBNA or have anything to to do with them, but from my own experience they are dealing with enquiries both quickly and efficiently. Of course it always helps if you are receiving the answers that you want to hear.

As for not providing the information required.....as has been said so many times, if the information is not held, then it cannot be provided unless you have retained your own documentation. Any company has an ABSOLUTE obligation to not hold data indefinitely and will have set retention period. I have experience of MBNA providing details of over 18 years ago, which is well beyond the minimum expected periods.
I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!

Thanks for all the replies... I did supply policy numbers, but can't prove that PPI was attached... and they are not obliged to keep historical records, though I know from experience that banks often do kepp stuff from 30 years ago & more! I actually managed to claim back PPI from HSBC for a loan in 1986... they denied it at first but when I managed to find all the paperwork, they coughed up... they ARE sometimes devious, and unless you can find actual papers, there's probably not much you can do to reclaim all the money they owe...

Understand that they "owe" you nothing unless you can show the PPI (if any) was mis-sold.

Providing evidence that you had PPI was just the first hurdle.

Regardless, the PPI deadline has been and gone now, so it's all moot.
