VW Sat nav update...raging 😪

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone could help.
I bought a new car VW golf, and the sat nav required an update, I went and googled and on to VW site themselves, and eagerly watched the video over and over did everything correct followed the video step by step, pausing and carrying on, the update failed on installation part (three parts to the update) and sd card is now saying it isn’t recognised, called my local VW to be told there is nothing they can do basically and buy a new card 😫😫😫 to which I did whilst unimpressed.
Emailed the customer service CEO department with what happened and they have said that they empower there sales teams to offer good will but in this case they have decided not to refund or partial refund nor any apology for it happening through there site.
Is there anything else I can do or is it a case of suck it up and move on?
I am so angry this has happened, I googled the issue, it shows that I am not the only one it has happened too.
I only had the car a week (2 weeks now) when I tried to update on their site, this mistake should not have happened.
Is there anymore I can do, any goods act I could possible use?
Many thanks
Long winded 😐 sorry

Use your phone and Google maps and save yourself the heartache. Much better product anyway.0

Sounds like a potentially dodgy SD card.0

I bought the car for the sat nav feature. I have purchased a new card but that’s doesn’t stop my feeling irate, that I used there site and it ruined my card, this should not be happening in this day and age. I was just wondering if I had any rights to try and get some money back after paying double digits for the car and then a failed update for the card with an attitude of tough, its just doesn’t seem fair

Powerful rogue, not dodgy, it was / is legit card it was the update via the site that caused the issue, having since googled the issue, it does seem to happen a lot.

Not sure how an update can damage a card .
Normally a quick format via PC will fix a card .
However there are lots of what look like a legit card as you call it are nothing of the sort .0 -

Where did you get the SD card from?0 -
The card came with the car in the VW casing also confirmed by VW it was the original for the car 2016 , the update created a back up downloaded the software and failed on initialising and then the card became unidentified which was weird
I have a feeling it’s a hard lesson to learn and no law can help, with them just having ‘tough’ attitude
