My daughter has a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The local shop has asked £40 + we supply screen (£18ish), or £70 and they do with warranty.

Is this a reasonable cost, or is there something for £20 or whatever?

k; guess I'll buy a new one then. Had the last one repaired for £2 in Indonesia, so will keep it, get it repaired in Indonesia at some point and then sell it.

    £60 repair on a £105 phone doesn't seem a particularly good idea.

Sounds like a good plan, although £2 sounds extremely cheap even for Indonesia.

I had my daughter's Asus ZenFone screen replaced with Asus original part in Thailand for about £18 when the price in UK was quoted at £80. I also go often to Indonesia so I'll consider that in future. (Unless you dropped a zero?)...

the screen was from bukalapak about £8 or £9 (in UK £18) and the repair was £2. the bloke did say that if you asked him to order the part it would work out more expensive
