Flash drive problem solved using Partition Manager.
Thanks to you all for your advice/help
Did you actually install CloudReady to the Netbook or was it only running on the USB Flash drive?
The first step actually only has it running a Live USB Flash installation. So did you go beyond that step, to actually installing it to the laptop's storage?0 -

It did appear to be going through the process of installing, this is the web site and method I was using, the instructions on the web site were easy to follow

Click here for list of downloads

If you are thinking of giving it a try please let me know how you get on.
PS
I was not sure whether my Samsung NC10 was 32 or 64 bit so I dowloaded both versions so if you are having a go check the 32/64 bit out
Thanks0 -

Is it this issue?

Yes that looks the same problem.
I tried 5/6 times to install, at the first attempt a list of countries for the keyboards did flash up momentarily onscreen but in the other attempts to install it did not appear.
When asked to register I attempted to fill in my email address using my UK keyboard and when I got to the @ symbol in my email address it came up as two dots and that meant I could not register and that was as far as I got with the installation.0 -
TBH I never actually succeeded in installing a 64 bit OS of any flavour on an NC10.
I stuck to 32 bit.0 -

Did you not press Shift + 2 for @, as it is for US keyboards?
I don't understand about the list of countries thing;
There seems to be options here. Do you get to this screen every time?0 -

Yes I got to that screen every time and clicked on the keyboard button but nothing happened.
Know I now about Shift +2 for the US keyboard and have kept the downloads I will probably have another go at the install later this week.
At least I won't have to ask for help to repair my flash drives.0 -
I am sure it was a list of countries that you click on to get the keyboard version you need, maybe I read it wrong

You'll note that there are two options on the pic that I posted; one for language on the main screen, try to change that first and then one for keyboard layout on the smaller black screen wherein you can choose to install. try there too.0 -
See here is someone who installed to the same device as yours; https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops/chromebooks/1404510/how-to-convert-an-old-laptop-into-a-chromebook-with-cloudready-for-free
Obviously an older version, but perhaps the explanations may make it more clear to you.0 -

I'm back again
I hve tried twice more to install this OS after giving all my details and having my identity verified twice via texted security numbers when I came to the end of registering the blue button (Create Account) would not click to accept my account..
I appreciate the help you have given me on the forum but I have decided not to try any more.
I do wonder if it is full of bugs
