Tesco mobile warranty repair

Sent my son's mobile to Tesco - stopped charging after 2 months. Removed screen protector and SIM as advised when examined in store. Tesco say received with a broken screen £60 to repair screen before they will even look at warranty repair. I feel I've been mugged off.

Did you post it or hand it in in store?
If you posted it, did you pack it correctly? If you think it was packed in a reasonable manner then take it up with your postal carrier as damage must have occurred while in transit.====0 -
Tesco doesnt take mobiles back in store for repair..Its up to you to package it carefully0

I did package it carefully using the supplied packaging - and as I felt it was inadequate, additional packaging of my own.0
