Money from Bank ATM

Has anyone else experience this -
Recently £20 had been taken from current bank account and after it was noted the bank branch was notified.
The local branch told me to ring up the number on back of the card and also said it probably be put back into my account. Rang the bank the money was put back into the account.
Sent a letter of complaint to the bank at higher level and their reply said the money was requested at local ATM inside bank but the money was not dispensed from their ATM. .
I cannot recalled making a request for the £20 at ATM? The bank said I should have reported when the money was not dispensed from the ATM machine when it did not come out of their ATM machine inside their branch.
Any help how I should proceed with this would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry...it might just be me, but I don't understand your post.
1 Are you saying that £20 has been taken out of your bank account without your knowledge?
    or
    2) Are you saying an ATM failed to dispense your £20 withdrawal?
    Or.... something else?

If your account has already been credited with the phantom £20, why did you subsequently complain about it? Were you expecting additional compensation? For what exactly?

Note that an ATM request would require a PIN entry, so if the Bank have a record of this happening it means either someone else has access to your PIN or you've simply forgotten the transaction.

If the former, you should change your PIN. If the latter, you've already received a refund of the £20 and you cannot now seek betterment...

I change my pin immediately, I mainly use the account for online transactions and put cash into the account not take it out. That is why when I notice the £20 been taken out, I went into the bank as I really wanted to know how it happened. They got cctv in branch, the person in the bank told me to ring the number on back of the card, which I did and it got put back into my account? When I made the complaint the bank said they took info from their ledgers.
If I had not notice money gone from my account would the money been lost? I really cannot recall requesting £20 from ATM inside bank which is a concern for me?
No one else has access to my card but I kept the same pin that came with the card from bank.

which I did and it got put back into my account?

The ? is what you put at the end of a question. You have used the ? multiple times and the sentence before does not make sense.

Do not use the ? unless you are asking a question of us.
  • It's my account I used for online purchases! maybe when you are in your late 70's you will have 'the' same sharp eyesight and concentration as you had in your teenage years?

I doubt many here are teenagers. And being in your 70s in 2019 is no longer the excuse it may have been 30-40 years ago. In fact, if you believe education standards have been falling, then it is actually teenagers who are more likely to not understand how to use a question mark correctly.

We are not trying to be difficult here. As it stands, your posts are a little hard to follow. In part because of your repeated use of question marks where there appears to be no question and no question mark when you do ask a question.

Have a read of what you have typed in your earlier posts and you will see why we are having difficulty following you. Maybe answer the following to help us understand.

1 - Did you attempt to draw £20 out?
2 - If so, did you actually get the £20?
3 - if not, did the bank refund you the £20?
4 - why did you raise a further complaint if you had the money refunded?
5 - What you are your questions about this?

OP - your post reads as though you have more than one account - and that's good.

Did you perhaps use the wrong card when you drew some cash?

I had to look up "coulrophobia" and even now don't know what it is or how it relates to your ATM and the £20

And this is about PPI? It must be, since it is on the PPI branch.
