How much is my CCJ going to affect me?

Context:
I have worked abroad for the last 5 years I have a house in the UK which I Iet out during that time. I have now returned to my house to live in the UK again.
While I was abroad I gained a CCJ because bills that I knew nothing about were sent to my UK property. I only realised that I had a CCJ when I randomly checked my credit report online.
I paid the debt in full the same day that I found out about it.
I am going to apply to the court to have this CCJ removed from my record but I really think that it depends on the company involved agreeing to sign a 'consent order', basically their approval to have the CCJ removed. But assuming I don't manage to do this...
Question:
How much is this CCJ going to affect my life? I've just moved back to the UK and I need to get a car and it's going to require finance - probably some kind of PCP contract.
I need to get a mobile phone which I would usually do on some kind of monthly contract.
In 3 years I was hoping to move house and get a new mortgage.
Money isn't a problem, I have a reasonable wage and a good credit score (aside from the CCJ) and can afford finance comfortably. But I guess this means nothing if I am denied finance because of this CCJ.
Am I screwed for the next 6 years until this CCJ drops off my record?CCJ was awarded about a year ago. So about 5 years left >.<Thanks that's the kind of info I was hoping for, if I can get my phone sorted then that's one stress off. The car is the big one though,
Has anyone got any insight into how a CCJ might affect a PCP application?
I'm not sure the complainant will be falling over themselves to your request for a consent to a set aside.
They waited 4 years whilst they were obviously chasing you for the money, and then went to the time, trouble and expense of seeking a court order, and even a year after the court ordered you to pay, they are still waiting.
But at least they will now be aware you are now back in the country, and so can start enforcement action against you, the cost of which can also be added to their calim already ordered against you.
The CCJ won't affect you at all unless you are seeking a job that would you would be prevented from having due to the CCJ, e.g. many jobs in the financial services sector, the police, etc, or indeed expect anybody to lend you money/credit.
No normal, responsible lender will extend credit to anyone who clearly has failed to pay their debts in the past. There are some lenders who specialise in lending to those who have records of not paying back, but they are not at all nice to deal with for obvious reasons and they typically have APRs > 1000 %
Of course there are a number of products and services that cost more when you can't get credit, such as mobile phones, gas, electricity, etc.0 -
Did you not read the OP properly? It was paid as soon as the OP became aware of it. You may wish to step down off your high horse.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Thanks for taking the time to comment although I feel it might have been more productive if you'd read my posts first.0 -
Only things I will say is:
1. the CCJ becomes less of an issue over time;
2. make sure you declare it to your car/home insurance company as not all of them cover people with CCJ's;
3. bank accounts are fairly easy to open;
4. phone contracts should be ok, but you may be restricted to a lower make/model of phone.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

Great idea!
So, having already posted a reply allegedly with an inference of not reading your posts first, I've now read your posts again and wouldn't change a word of the advice given previously.
Must have been my sixth sense or something :cool:0 -
Why did you get so many contracts?
Trying to boost my credit rating up as i dont have a CC at the moment. It was a mess previously so trying to make as many payments on time. Also have alot of family, cousins, necieses and nephews etc that needed sim cards so killed two birds with one stone.
No phone contracts, sim only for the most basic sim0 -

That’s not a way to boost a fictitious rating.
In fact there is no way to do it.0
