Air Con service/refresh

saw this
"Using the ‘bomb’
Air conditioning aerosol ‘bomb’ cleaners cannot be effective, unless the evaporator is dried, first. For this to happen, the heater must be run for around ten minutes, with the air conditioning switched-off. The heater is then set to ‘recirculate’ and the air flow set towards the windscreen, before the aerosol is positioned within a footwell and activated."
Unsure now... should I have the heater on, or the air con on ??!0 -
Probably mean Climate Control as opposed to air con.0

There are refrigeration engineers down the road from my employer, one of their guys checks for leaks and tops up for a tenner.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Still confused !
Is it heater on, or aircon/climate control on (or both!)0 -
when you motor is already warm run the heater on full whack/max temp and the aircon at the same time.
the raised temp will kill any bacteria.
The recognised temperature to kill bacteria is upwards of 60C. The heater will not blow that hot. It also won't deal with anything upstream of the heater matrix.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
I have had my 2004 car topped up twice before journeys to Italy. In 2010 I paid £50, 2019 I paid £60 but it's a big car with dual zone climate control. When I took it in this year they were a bit disgusted that I had left it 9 years but then found it had a surprising amount of gas left in (about 80%). I was asking them about leaks and whether increasing the pressure was likely to cause a leak. They were laughing saying "There's no way you have a leak with that amount of gas left after 9 years". I guess different cars leak at different rates.0

“Climate control” is nothing more than thermostatically controlled air conditioning. I know people who don’t realise you can turn the heater up when their manual aircon is on as they think it defeats the object, but when air is cooled, the water vapour separates when the temperature falls below the “dewpoint” (usually a few degrees below the actual temperature in the UK).
This causes the air to be dryer, hence the dehumidifying effect. Add some heat on a cold day and you’ll have a warm dry interior to your car using heated air con air.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Certainly on my car you can't have the heater on without the a/c being on, its on the one switch.0
