Thanks, I will go to Screwfix and have a look at the Sentinel cleaner.
I am not sure what you meant by the very low gas consumption that was quoted, did you mean the 3600 Kwh that FreeBear mentioned?
For some reason my smart meter is showing my gas usage going up every day and I can't understand why as I am not doing anything different. Monday it was £1.77 and 36.71 kWh, Tuesday £1.49 and 33.46 kWh (not sure why it dropped then), Wednesday £1.95 and 45.89 kWh and yesterday it was £2.14 and 51.13 kWh.
I'm just worried there's a trend that it is going to continue to rise. Maybe because the weather's got colder so my heating is coming on more? Anyway, I'll see if the Sentinel stuff makes a difference.
Hopefully once I change energy providers and get a better deal, I won't be so paranoid about it.0 -

Of course your gas consumption will rise as the weather gets colder!
The boiler will be working more to keep the house to the temperature you have set.
It isn't a worrying trend it is what happens every year as we approach winter!0
