It was announced around an hour ago that the UK and EU have agreed that flights can continue as planned until October next year, the original agreement ended in March 2020....

    Thanks Alan, good to know.

Nobody can say whether or not additional costs may apply post Brexit. Any charges are likely to apply irrespective of when the holiday is booked. Travellers from across the world visit the EU, so be aren't going to be in any worse position than them.

Travelers whose currency is not suffering the same kind of weakness as sterling will not be potentially affected in the ways discussed here.

An awful lot of other countries have currencies that weaken at times... strange things have happened to the Chinese currency recently. And the Iranian currency fell by 40 per cent in a single day!

i'm not asking for the full impacts of brexit here, i'm simply asking it sensile to book a holiday now or is it more than likely that there could be several issues relating to holidays from Uk to EU in later half of 2020,
If you've seen a price you're happy to pay, book your holiday now if you want to.
The sensible precautions I would take are:

Try not to book the last week of any month as all but one of the brexit deadlines have been towards the end of the month.

Make sure you have 6mths left on your passport on the date of your return travel to the UK. That's the advice on the gov website so you can check it there.

Be aware that new applications for EHIC cards were suspended indefinitely on 1st September, so you will need travel insurance with decent medical cover if you don't have it already via your bank or credit card. Decent travel insurance will be key.

Have a look on the XE currency converter site to see how Sterling has been performing against the Euro over the last year, then decide what exchange rate you'd be happy to settle for and set an alert on one of the currency exchange comparison sites. I'm sure there will be links to them via MSE.

See if there any sales left for summer clothes now. I bought a stack of stuff the other week that I've put away for next summer.

With all this uncertainty it will do you good to have something to look forward to, particularly if you know you have good insurance.

OP just book it, no 1 will/can know what impact Brexit will have on anything.

I know 1 thing, just get your holiday booked before the resort/ideal hotel is booked.
