EU hol 2020 (brexit impact?)

Hi all,
looking at holiday options for next year already & some good options available. I want to get in the game early & book as usually wait until Jan/Feb time but I think many options are gone by then (holiday is around end aug - end sept, dates flexible).
As stated above i've seen some good options that are currently affordable & feel if I wait then they'll be snapped up.
But should I wait until after Brexit?
I'm a UK resident & would be travelling from the UK to the holiday destination (likely to be a spanish isle of some sort).
But I don't want to book & then post brexit a bunch of extra charges are added now that UK will no longer be part of EU, or there's some other faff such as applying for a visa or something.

Has anyone else booked a UK to EU holiday for next year/post brexit already?
Any advice would be helpful.

It was announced around an hour ago that the UK and EU have agreed that flights can continue as planned until October next year, the original agreement ended in March 2020. Therefore there is no reason for your holiday not to go ahead because of Brexit, however, what it will cost no one knows.

If the pound is worth less than a Euro by the time you travel, spending money will be higher and some operators, airlines and booking agents reserve the right to surcharge, to increase the price after booking. If you are worried, look for someone who guarantees no surcharges.

Other than that, who knows where we will be, we may still be within the EU, Boris might be joining his father on a reality TV show, there are simply too many unknowns to give a definitive answer. But, would I book a holiday for next summer, yes, of course, I would
  • why thanks for all the helpful responses. Why is it stupid to ask. i'm not asking for a crystal ball.
I didn't mention spending money/exchange rates as they vary all the time anyways but I expect them to decrease for a period following brexit. I didn't ask for predictions on actual costs.

My question was, is it sensible to book now or to better to wait until we have definite answers.

I'm not sure many of the people responding on here are in a position to criticize those trying to run the country when yourselves cant even seem to remember simple manners,.

    .

Why? Ignoring the Pound collapsing against the Euro, what do you think the worst case scenario would actually be, just out of interest?

i'm not asking for the full impacts of brexit here, i'm simply asking it sensile to book a holiday now or is it more than likely that there could be several issues relating to holidays from Uk to EU in later half of 2020,
I don't want to book a hol now at a set price & then after brexit i'm subject to a whole heap of other charges hence the holiday ends up costing a hell of a lot more.

If you can only just afford a holiday then probably it is not sensible to book it: life is full of surprises, many of which are expensive.

It is reasonable to expect that Brexit could increase costs: there may well be a fee for travel authorisation and as mentioned the exchange rate is almost certain to change. So be prepared for everything to cost perhaps ten or even twenty per cent more than the prices you see. If that level of cost increase would be a disaster for you, you really cannot afford your holiday.

Booking so far ahead with the uncertainty about what is going on raises the possibility of flight times and even dates being changed. If that's not a problem for you then that's fine but if you have to commit to a specific date for work reasons then it would be sensible to wait.
