Why would I do that when I can ask the survey for their opinion after I've spent hundreds of pounds paying for them to go to the house? Also are you going to comment on the numerous threads started by buyers asking for help?

Again, I don't know why people are so 'touchy' about this subject. Superiority complex.

Honestly, I'm not touchy, but having been on these forums for many many years, there is usually certain type of posters.

This is your first house purchase, so no-one really expects you to know everything, I sure didn't! But there are so many guides out there, reading these first is usually the best idea.

The survey jab was also as we have a lot of people, like yourselves who are on their first purchase without a clue, without reading up, asking silly questions where should they search rather than post a new thread asking the same question that has been answered hundreds of times, they would have the answers.

I don't spend anywhere near as much time on this forum as I used to, work and family now takes over my life, but I just happened to be on this morning and saw your thread :)

Good luck in your house purchase.
Thanks. I will call the estate agent and see what her reply is. Maybe also look for chain free houses haha. I'm quite annoyed as I did instruct a mortgage advisor (previous sale) and she wasn't helpful.

Chain free are quite rare. Usually landlords selling up, dead people, and new builds.

You've made 36 threads asking for help. Pot, kettle. black.
Have you actually looked at any of the threads babyblade started? Let's look at the most recent:

    1. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6043359/right-to-buy-to-private-tenants - starting a discussion (opinion sharing) on current events
    2. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6039256/knocking-down-kitchen-wall-and-extending-into-disabled-shower-room - "here's a complex idea I've had, opinions on it please"
    3. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6034495/rules-on-old-septic-tanks - "I've read several articles and I'm still confused, please clarify this situation"

There's nothing wrong with starting threads - that's how forums thrive. But see the difference between starting discussions / seeking help on something tricky, versus asking for education on the basics.
